Uneeda DewDrop Crybaby Tears babydoll, Original 1950's Clothing
Uneeda DewDrop! Dewdrop and Baby Dollikin were made the same year: Baby Dollikin has all the extra joints at elbows and knees, while DewDrop is a tears doll (she cries real tears if you give her a bottle.) Dewdrop dolls have a very small notch or slit in the lower eyelid, where the tears form. Both dolls havethe same face mold or face style.
This doll was probably played with some but she's still in very good condition. No bald spots, in fact the hair still has original style and curl. She has all her lashes. Eyes are bright and sparkly. Her outfit appears to be original.
I love the dimples on each side of her face, below the eyes. This is one of the most pleasant and charming dolly faces of the 1950's and 60's. Dewdrop and Dollikin were first introduced by Uneeda in 1958 or 59. Dollikin is 21" tall with a long neck, whereas THIS doll Dewdrop is 19" tall and has a short, wideneck, which gives her more of a chubby look in her cheeks even though the face mold is the same as Baby Dollikins.
THIS Dewdrop is made of all heavy vinyl with a soft vinyl head. You can see that she has the separated toes on her feet: this also indicates she is made of heavy vinyl and was most likely made before 1960.
