1950's DEWDROP tears babydoll by Uneeda 19 inch Molded Hair Beauty
Sweet little DewDrop is a crybaby tears doll by Uneeda. She was made in the late 1950's. This doll is made of all soft vinyl, jointed at neck, shoulders and hips and she has the separated toes that was typical of late 1950's babydolls. She is a molded hair dolly. Her eyes are still very bright and clear, and her lashes are full. She is 19 inches tall. This doll is in good used condition: it doesn't appear that she was played with much.
The DewDrop dolls have a small hole on the lower eyelid: that's how you can tell it was a crybaby doll. That's where the tears would come from, when you gave the doll a bottle.
DewDrop Dolls have a special little secret, too: the fingers on the left hand are in the sign language position for I LOVE YOU.
This doll was painted all over: all the vinyl parts have flesh tone color paint. This is actually a positive, because the paint that Uneeda used was especially durable and colorfast, besides being more attractive than regular vinyl. It gives the skintone a little more dimension and a pretty sheen.
DewDrop is redressed in one of our vintage dolly dresses, with bloomers, sandals and pink lacy socks. She is an especially lovely example of a popular 1950's doll series.
