Saranade by Uneeda
AO Brunette Saranade - 21 inch Westinghouse Talking Phonograph Doll by Uneeda.
This lovely brunette is Saranade; a wireless talking doll that originally came with a Westinghouse phonograph and her own record. Apparently other records could also be purchased. This doll does NOT include the phonograph: only the doll is included.
She is wearing all her own original clothing and is in very good condition, possibly never played with. She has some light smudges on body and gown but is basically clean. Her pretty brown hair has an auburn sheen. Hair is still in the original ponytail style with original ribbon.
She is marked © Uneeda Doll Co Inc 1962, in a raised circle on her neck. The doll is 21 inches tall. She is jointed at hips, shoulders and neck. She has a toddler child shape.
Saranade has an especially pretty face with bright blue pinwheel eyes, full lashes and rosy face color. Her arms are made of hard vinyl, head is soft vinyl, and her body & legs are sturdy plastic. She is 21 inches tall.
Saranade's tummy has speaker holes, an on/off switch and connections for a battery or wires. The box says the doll is wireless, so I guess the connectors are for a 9-volt style battery but it must be a proprietary battery because the connectors go on each end: I've never seen connectors like this. The specialized batteries may not be available any longer.
