Hedda Get Bedda is a vintage American Character Doll with 3 faces: Sick, Happy, or Sleepy!
THIS American Character Whimsie doll is Hedda Get Bedda, a doll for little girls to nurse back to health. Hedda has three faces. She has a sick face with measles (or chicken pox) and a sleepy face and a pleasant happy face. You turn the knob on the top of her bonnet to change her face.
The Whimsie dolls have a one-piece molded latex body and a vinyl head. The dolls can be 21 inches long, or 19 inches long. The company had two different doll bodies for the Whimsies, and some of them had longer legs.
Hedda came with a toy thermometer to put in the hole in her mouth (on the sick face only.) Hedda was dressed in a variety of pajamas: some were peach and cream color, others were blue and cream print.
The American Character Whimsie dolls are a series of more than one dozen outrageous character dolls with silly names. Whimsie dolls were made in the 1950's.
