Vintage American Character Doll. There are dolls, and then there's Toodle Loo by American Character -- and probably some emphasis on "character" because this poor dolly was not given a whole lot in the way of beauty. Maybe she'll grow out of it. Maybe it's an awkward stage.

Even so, it's difficult being directly related to such charmers as Butterball and glamorous Toodles with the long flirty lashes.

Toodle Loo is made with the foam injected "lastic plastic" which was a flexible sort of soft vinyl that was foam injected. It gives the dolls a softer look, a softer edge in the lines and because the color almost always tends to fade, the dolls have a softer pastel skin tone as well. She is approx. 19 inches tall with bent legs.

All my Toodle Loo dolls had to be rewigged. The original hair is merely a tuft on top of the head, which for some reason or other was cut off.
