This is Uneeda's popular Toddles doll from the 1950's. She is made of all soft vinyl and is a very good quality doll. This particular doll is unusual because she (apparently) is part of a Dolls of the World series. I didn't know that Uneeda made their World dolls using this large 17 inch Toddles doll, but she is certainly a beauty. If there are more in this series (I don't know for sure if there are) it would make a beautiful set.

Miss Sweden (or Austria or Bavaria) is wearing a light blue taffeta dress with organza sleeves and apron. The gown is trimmed with lavid gold trimmed braid. It has the donut snaps on the back, which are typical of Uneeda and is a clue that the dress truly is her own original. The shoes and socks are her own, too.

This doll is in good condition. The hair is bright and clean: and such a pretty lemon chiffon color.

Toddles dolls from this 1950's era have the "Saranade" face: this face style was also used for a singing doll that Uneeda made for Westinghouse. It's a very pretty face style, with big eyes, a sweet smile with closed mouth, and two little dimples on her cheeks. She is 17 inches tall and can wear many of the same fashions that the Magic Attic dolls wear, or Battat, or other slender 18 inch doll types (the AG size clothes are too big.)

By 1961 Uneeda was using plastic parts for their toddler dolls, so Miss Sweden was made before that: late 1950's or right on 1960.
